Our activity of setter of the "objets d'art"
arose bit by bit from the rather contemporary taste for the fragment. Many objects
are not standing up because they are broken or extracted from their context:
they need a setter to find their original position. Formerly, the pedestal was
often apart of the object and was created with it: piédouche under a bust, bronze
pedestal under a Venus Hellenistic, flower of lotus under Buddha, pedestal decorated
with moulding under an equestrian statue. Today, the massive arrival
on the market of very numerous and different archaeological objects led the
buyers of these objects towards new artisans: the fitters in "objets d'art"
"Maison André", without abandoning the creation of pedestals of very sophisticated
style to wooden base, marble, hard stones, gold-coloured bronze,...
developed a whole creation of contemporary pedestals which try especially to
be as discret as possible and to keep out of the limelight. 
This
activity led it quite naturally towards the installation of temporarely or definitive
exhibitions we work in association with the curators and the scenic designers.
We are brought to put in situation the most different objects and, in that case,
the pedestal should disappear entirely and the assemblaye should be invisible
behind the object.
